Purpose: A breeding of two big, heavy-boned rats with great structure to try and counteract some of the delicacy I've been seeing in the Russian Cinnamon line females.
Outcome: Size did not transfer noticably in this generation, but grandchildren from this litter are noticably bigger in bone and struction. Keepers from this litter have all been plagued by health problems that, while not individually genetic, may add up to a larger picture. Descendants are being watched.
This line is also showing a tendancy toward obesity and small eyes. Breeding descendants will be selected with those weaknesses in mind.
